SAINTS, SEA AND SUN

ist ein Musikprojekt, das darauf abzielt, das Jazz-Erlebnis, insbesondere die Improvisationspraxis, mit den Atmosphären und Farben der Musiksprachen zu verbinden, die in den Anrainerstaaten des Mittelmeerbeckens entwickelt wurden. Das Repertoire des Quartetts besteht aus Originalkompositionen der Gruppenmitglieder, die von den traditionellen Musikformen der mediterranen Populärkultur inspiriert sind. Darunter sind italienische Tarantellas oder andere folkloristische und teilweise jahrhundertealte Stücke, die bereits in der italienischen Klassik aufgegriffen wurden und nun auch den Jazz bereichern. Damit bringt uns die Band akustisch noch einmal die Sommernächte an der Küste Liguriens nahe.
